How it works

From your system to our design queue in four steps

If your lab already runs its own management software, you no longer need to re-enter every case by hand to outsource design to us.

1. Register a lab account

Create your lab account on the Dental 3D Lab portal. The integration guide and your API settings are inside the portal once you are signed in.

2. Test in sandbox

Use a sandbox key to send sample cases and see exactly how each one would be recorded, without creating a real case.

3. Go live

Switch to a live key. Each case your system sends arrives in the same design flow as a case entered by hand.

4. Receive updates

Get a notification for every status change, plus delivery and review events, by webhook or by reading a feed.

What you get

Built for automated case submission

A narrow, purpose-built interface: send a case, know what happened to it, and stay in control of your data.

Automate case submission

Your system sends the patient reference, shade, priority, notes and the restoration lines by tooth, group, jaw or whole case. Our portal records it as a normal case with its own deadline and assignment.

An answer to every request

Each submission is answered immediately: accepted, held for review, or rejected with the exact field that needs fixing. You also see how each product you sent was recorded.

Events for the whole case life

Received, assigned, in design, in quality control, adjustment, completed and shipped — plus requests such as a new impression or a replacement scan link.

Files stay where they are

You send secure links to your own storage rather than uploading through the API. Nothing is copied until a designer opens the case, and a broken link can be reported back to you in one click.

Your cases only

Each integration is bound to a single lab account. A key can create and read only that lab's cases and can never see another client's data.

Safe to run

Per-lab daily limits, a review queue for anything unusual, sandbox keys for testing, and a kill switch that pauses an integration immediately if you ask.

Who it is for

  • Dental labs with their own case-management or ERP system that want cases to arrive without manual entry
  • Labs sending steady volume who need status updates inside their own system instead of by email
  • Teams with a developer or software vendor who can connect to a documented web API

Prefer not to integrate? You can still submit cases one by one or in batches directly in the portal — see the dental case management portal.

Frequently asked questions

Who can use the Lab API integration? Any dental lab that registers an account on the Dental 3D Lab portal. There is no separate application: once you have an account, the integration guide is available inside the portal.
Do I have to push cases to you, or can you pull them from my system? Pushing is the default and the simplest: your system calls our API when a case is ready. For a lab that cannot send calls, a pull mode is available where our portal reads new cases from an address you provide, after the domain is verified.
Do I upload scan files through the API? No. You include secure https links to the scan files in your own storage. This keeps your files under your control and your API calls small and fast.
How do I find out what happened to a case? Every status change generates an event. You can receive events by webhook, or read them from a feed whenever your system is ready. Each submission also returns an immediate acknowledgement.
Can I test before sending real cases? Yes. Sandbox keys validate your requests and show how they would be recorded without creating a case, so your developers can finish the integration before going live.
Where is the technical documentation? Inside the portal. Register a lab account and sign in to see the full integration guide, authentication details and example requests.
